Sandman’s goal is to grow until he becomes and uncontrollable sand monster. He gains extra Health when he attacks Heroes and when Locations can’t take any more Civilians or Thugs. If he ever reaches 20 Health, the Heroes no longer stand a chance against him. In the meantime, he slithers around knocking Heroes with powerful attacks, which also accelerate his Masterplan. His cards allow him to attack Heroes in all sorts of different and unpredictable ways.
His Threats include the aid of the likes of Doc Ock and Electro, but also fill the Locations with sand (it gets everywhere). Sandstorms can make it impossible for Heroes to attack him, while quicksand pins them down.
Fighting Sandman is a very interesting game of push-and-pull, as both sides try to bring his Health to opposing ends of the scale.
